CHAPTER SUMMARY
The idea in one minute
A bubble feeds on enthusiasm and the expectation of selling at a higher price increasingly outweighing fundamentals. Rapid rises can attract new buyers and end in sharp falls. Recovering a previous high is never guaranteed.
What to remember
- A rapidly rising price alone does not prove greater value.
- Collective euphoria can make risks harder to recognize.
- Having exposure and exit rules helps before panic arrives.
Put it into practice
Ask yourself whether you would buy the same asset without looking at its recent rise. If the only reason is that everyone is making money, reconsider.
