CHAPTER SUMMARY
The idea in one minute
A range forms when price fluctuates between a lower and an upper zone. It can occur in different market phases, and its outcome is not known in advance. Trading it requires planning for both rebounds and breakouts.
What to remember
- The lower area serves as a support reference and the upper as resistance.
- The middle of the range usually provides less clarity for defining scenarios.
- An exit from the range may be real or a false breakout.
Put it into practice
Draw a range’s boundaries and plan two responses: what you would do if price stays inside and what you would do if it leaves.
